At the DOT meeting yesterday here in Ames the commissioners decided to tour
the Eddyville area on a bus with information about the area provided by the
DOT staff that did their environmental assessment.
This tour will take place on April 10th and they will rule on the 11th. I
am concerned that they will hear nothing about the area from the experts
who determined that the area was sensitive and should be protected.
Would it be possible for an expert who could inform them of the value of
the Tino farm area to go on this tour? The liverwort area will be
protected, I am told by DNR, although I remember Glenda being concerned
about the road for fill dirt being paved and trucks going through that area
during the construction. Glenda would know more about their thinking about
that.
If an expert could go with them on this tour, the appropriate people to
write in order to request this are:
Jon Ranney
Director of Program Managment
Mark Dandro
Director, IDOT
800 Lincolnway
Ames, Iowa 50010
Peggy Murdock
