Paul Lepisto has updated the letter being sent to senate offices and including a reference to Sen. Blunt's amendment to cut Missouri River Species recovery programs by $50 million dollars.

We signed on to the earlier version of this letter so I assume we do not need a vote.

If you wish to send your own version of this letter to your senator, that would help.
I am headed to Denver for the Recovery Committee meeting and on Friday the Flood Task Force meeting--Sierra Club is identified as a collaborative member of the task force. Wish me luck.

Jim

Subject: Revised Missouri River - Senate Letter

Please read the updated request letter (attached) that will be sent to Missouri River basin Senator's offices early next week.

Read the highlighted portion and let me know by 12 Noon CT next Monday, October 17th whether your group agrees to remain on the letter or will agree to be added to the list of sign ons.

The Senate will debate 3 appropriations bills next week, although energy and water is not one of them, any one in the Senate could offer an amendment to any of them on any subject.

Thanks for your consideration.
