A new DNR webpage illustrating the county distributions of Endangered,
Threatened, and Special Concern plants and animals is now available.
The direct link is:
http://csbweb.igsb.uiowa.edu/imsgate/maps/natural_areas.asp
To access this site from the main DNR homepage (www.iowadnr.com ), use
the "Choose a Program..." menu box in the upper left corner to select
“Threatened and Endangered”. Once on the T&E webpage, click on the
link to “Natural Areas Inventory Interactive Website”.
In addition to providing information to readers, another function of
the county maps will be to prompt those of you who are aware of
additional counties of occurrence to let us know of your findings.
Even for counties from which a species is already recorded, you may
know of additional, unrecorded sites, so please contact us if you have
information about the locations of listed species (we can check to see
if it represents a new site or not) . For new sites, we can set up a
data entry procedure that will allow you to map and describe your
observations electronically from the convenience of your own computer.
For more information about this webpage or about how to provide your
observations, please contact:
