TUESDAY
MEDIA CONTACT: Russell Royce or Mark
Heiderscheit at (319) 653-2135
KEOKUK – About 1,000 gallons of untreated wastewater ran into a
Keokuk storm sewer and then to the Mississippi River
Tuesday.
The release was caused by an electrical problem in one of the pumps at
the Roquette America plant. Plant workers quickly switched to another pump and stopped
the release within 15 minutes. They were making repairs about 6:45 p.m.
Tuesday.
