In his veto message, Governor Culver calls for Patti Judge to organize a Missouri River summit. Sounds like an echo of Mike Tramontina's plan. The chapter needs to get involved by suggesting experts on mitigation, recreation, and economic opportunity. WE do not want a repeat of five years ago when the summit turned into a complaint session by farmers along the river.

Culver did veto the Missouri River Compact bill. I'm totally surprised
because that bill got through both houses without one single no vote.
This is very encouraging in light of what Culver didn't do with local
control.
