Officials from EPA Region 7 in Kansas City will be in Des Moines for a public meeting to discuss regulation on Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs) in Iowa. They want to hear from members of the public about the problems with CAFOs and how CAFOs can be better regulated to protect the public and the environment.
The meeting will be on October 18, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. at the State Historical Building, 600 E. Locust St. in Des Moines (map). It will be in Heritage Rooms A and B in the Historical Building.
If you cannot attend the meeting, the EPA will take written public comments on the DNR’s response to the EPA report. Written comments should be sent by email to mailto:[log in to unmask] mailed and postmarked on or before October 17, 2012 to:
