DNR Environmental Protection Commission MEETING JAN. 22

The Environmental Protection Commission will consider changes in Title V
fees and manure applicator certification fees at the Tuesday, Jan. 22,
meeting to be held in the fourth floor conference room of the Wallace
Building in Des Moines.

Commissioners will consider a proposal made by an industry taskforce that
would require a minimum Title V fee of $1,000 for all facilities.  Title V
fees are currently paid by large facilities that are required to have an air
operating permit.  In general, Title V facilities are the largest emitters
of air pollution.

The EPC will also consider a fee increase for manure applicator
certification.  Under the proposal commercial applicators would pay $200 for
certification and confinement site applicators would pay $100.

The meeting begins at 10 a.m. and public participation is scheduled for
10:30.  The meeting is open to the public.
