Drobney, biologist with the Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge, will talk
about and show slides of invasive species that are of increasing concern
here in Iowa. .
Workday: Saturday, May 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Ashworth Park in Des
Moines. We will cut or pull garlic mustard . The infestation is severe in
Ashworth; we hope there will be many volunteers. If you can come, wear long
pants and long sleeves, and bring gloves. Des Moines Parks will furnish
bags. Parking is just south of Ashworth Pool, south of Grand Avenue on 45th
Street. (The art center and science center are on this street.) Someone
will meet you at the parking area to show you where to work. For more
