"Mountain", by J.R. Walker--June 16

The June program of Central Iowa Sierra Group will feature an
abbreviated reading of the play, "Mountain", which outlines the life of
Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas. Justice Douglas was not only a
champion of individual rights and the right to privacy, but he also promoted
a "Wilderness Bill of Rights" for our natural environment.

The role of Douglas will be played by J.R. Walker, a longtime Sierra
Club member, and a lifelong actor and play director. The two supporting
roles will be played by Richard Yach, a local film producer and script
writer, and Carolyn Walker, an elementary teacher and Sierra Club issues
activist.

This program will be presented at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 16 in the
lower level of Grace United Methodist Church, 37th and Cottage Grove in Des
Moines. For information, call 515-223-5047.
