The Des Moines Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) will hold a
public information meeting, to receive input and comments on the amendments
to the Federal Fiscal Years 2006-2008 Transportation Improvement Program
(FFY 2006-2008 TIP).

- Iowa Department of Transportation requested the addition of IA 415, Big
Creek divide channel 1.3 miles northwest of Polk City - total project cost
of $241,000, federal-aid request $192,000 in Federal Fiscal Year 2007 to the
Highway Bridge Replacement and Rehabilitation Program section of the FFY
2006-2008 TIP.

- The Des Moines Metropolitan Transit Authority requested the following
changes to the Transit Element of the FFY 2006-2008 TIP:

The project listing for Miscellaneous Equipment, increased total estimated
cost to $99,000 in FY2006 and $95,000 in FY2007, and federal-aid cost to
$79,200 in FY2006 and $76,000 in FY2007;

The project listing for Computer Hardware, total estimated cost increased
to $181,500 in FY2006, $40,500 in FY2007 and decreased to $27,500 in FY2008,
and federal-aid cost increased to $145,200 in FY2006, $32,400 in FY2007 and
decreased to $22,000 in FY2008;

The project listing for Shop Equipment, increased total estimated cost to
$110,000 and federal-aid cost to $88,000 in FY2007;

The project listing for Admin./Maint./Storage Facility, increased total
estimated cost to $90,000 and federal-aid cost to $72,000 in FY2008;

Added the project listing for Supervisory vehicles - total estimated cost of
$75,000 in FY2006 and $25,000 in FY2007, and federal-aid cost of $60,000 in
FY2006 and $20,000 in FY2007;

Added the project listing for Two 25' MD Fixed-Route Buses - total estimated
cost of $260,000 and federal-aid cost of $215,800 in FY2007;

Added the project listing for Twenty-three RideShare Vehicles - total
estimated cost of $598,000 and federal-aid cost of $478,400 in FY2007;

Added the project listing for Three MD 30' Fixed-Route Buses - total
estimated cost of 390,000 and federal-aid cost of $323,700 in FY2008; and

Added the project listing for Fareboxes - total estimated cost of $1,537,500
and federal-aid cost of $1,230,000 in FY2008.

The FFY 2006-2008 TIP is an annual document that identifies transportation
projects that Des Moines Area MPO member governments and agencies intend to
implement using federal funds over the next three years.  The Des Moines
Area MPO will take action on the FFY 2006-2008 TIP at its October 20, 2005,
meeting.

The public meeting will be conducted utilizing an open forum format.  Des
Moines Area MPO staff will be present with information to discuss the
amendments of Federal Fiscal Year 2006-2008 Transportation Improvement
Program and to respond to questions.

Interested individuals are encouraged to attend the meeting to express their
views and ask questions.  Written statements and related exhibits will be
accepted at the public meeting or may be submitted to the Des Moines Area
MPO.
