you!Interesting to note that the Sunday, March 17 Des Moines Register
carried a letter-to-the-editor from Senator Grassley, stating that he is
planning to offer a green-energy amendment to the energy bill that
encourages development of wind energy, biomass, ethanol and biodiesel.  He
continued that the $15 billion, bipartisan package of energy-tax incentives
which he helped steer through the Finance Committee last month "features an
extension of the original credits" he "pushed through 10 years ago that
heped launch the then-fledgling wind industry."

I think he was too busy patting himself on the back to vote for the Jeffords
amendment.

One day after declining to support tougher fuel-efficiency standards, the
Senate yesterday voted down a measure that would have required 20 percent of
the nation's electricity to be produced from wind, solar, and other
renewable energy sources by 2020. Currently, less than 2 percent of U.S.
electricity comes from renewable resources. The measure that could have
changed all that, which was sponsored by Jim Jeffords (I-Vt.), was defeated
by a disheartening 70 votes to 29. How did your senators vote on Amendment
3017? Odds are, badly -- but see for yourself.
