**A reminder about the IEC Lobby Day on Tuesday, March 4**

March forth on March 4th
Iowa Environmental Council Lobby Day

The Iowa Environmental Council's annual Environmental Lobby Day will be held
at the Iowa State Capitol from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday March 4th.
The Council and a number of our member organizations will have displays set
up in the East wing of the first floor of the Rotunda.  Council members and
others interested in talking directly with legislators about environmental
priorities are encouraged to attend.

To kick-off the event, a legislative and press briefing will be held in the
Capitol Rotunda, first floor, at 10 a.m.  The briefing will feature IEC
members speaking on environmental priorities for the legislative session. All
legislators and the Governor have been invited to attend.  The three key
issues to be featured in the briefing are:

1. Adequate conservation spending (the 2-cent campaign),
2. The 10% renewable energy standard by 2010, and
3. Truth in impaired waters reporting

Following the briefing, the Council staff and others will assist individuals
in contacting their legislators for one-on-one discussions about these issues
and other environmental priorities.  You do not need to be an expert on these
issues.  The Council will have fact sheets available and information about
proposed environmental legislation to assist you in your efforts.

You do not need to stay all day - come anytime you want and stay as long as
you like. Coffee, juice and healthy snacks will be provided during the day to
reward your efforts.  We need the support of each and every one of you.
Please plan to attend if you can.

For information on the Council's legislative priorities go to:
