This call for volunteers pertains mostly to Des Moines-area members, but if
you are interested in making the trip to Des Moines on June 7, I'd love to
have the help.
As part of the Watershed University (announced in previous emails), the
Sierra Club will be participating in stormdrain marking. This entails
installing markers near stormdrain sewers on the streets, to remind people
that materials dumped down the stormdrains end up in nearby waterbodies.
We'll be working on this project the morning of Saturday, June 7.
Then from 10 AM to 2 PM, the Sierra Club will have an informational table at
the Watershed University celebration.
So, if you're interested in volunteering to do stormdrain marking or staff an
info table (or help with other watershed cleanup projects around Des Moines
that day), call or email Erin at the Chapter office: 515-277-8868 or
