Sierra Club's Board of Directors Candidates Forum Q&A Website

To help members make informed voting decisions in the upcoming Board of
Directors election, we have created a website presenting all 17 candidates'
responses to 14 key questions.

You can access the website at http://www.sierraclub.org/bod/2004election/.
It features enhanced navigation so you can easily see all candidates'
answers to a particular question, or all the 14 answers of a particular
candidate, or any combination. All answers are limited to 150 words.

The 14 questions were chosen from an email survey of several thousand Club
leaders the week of January 26. The Board candidates were invited to respond
during the week of February 16. Their answers were not edited other than to
ensure the limit of 150 words. And when that was required, the candidates
were asked to review and approve the shortened versions.

Some candidates did not respond to some or all of the questions, and in that
case the website reports, "Questionnaire Not Returned" for that candidate or
question.

This website is different from the BOD-CANDIDATES-OPEN-FORUM, which is an
interactive email discussion list. The Candidates' Forum Q&A website at
http://www.sierraclub.org/bod/2004election/ is strictly a list of
candidates' answers to key questions, presented in such a way that you can
easily contrast and compare their positions.

We offer this treatment to further the Club's tradition of an open and
democratic election and to help members cast knowledgeable and informed
votes.
