RECOMMENDATION TO BOIL WATER LIFTED IN ROCKFORD

MEDIA CONTACT: Al Tompkins at (641) 424-4073.

ROCKFORD – The DNR lifted a recommendation to boil water in the city of Rockford shortly after noon on Wednesday.

“All six lab results came back free of bacteria, so we are lifting the recommendation to boil water,” said Al Tompkins, an environmental specialist with the Mason City DNR field office.

The water samples also showed that chlorine levels were adequate to disinfect the water.

The Floyd County town issued a boil water advisory Tuesday because one of the city’s two wells had been flooded.
