STATE PRESERVES ADVISORY BOARD MEETING JULY 8
MARION -
The State Preserves Advisory Board of the DNR will hold its quarterly
public meeting at 8:30 a.m. July 8 at the Linn County Conservation Board
Office, Highway 13 and County Home Road, four miles north of Marion.
The day prior to the meeting, the board will tour Rock Island Preserve in
Cedar Rapids at 1 p.m. The board will hold a work session after the July 8
meeting to discuss draft actions/strategies for the strategic plan.
Agenda topics include:
· Approve minutes of April meeting
· Approve agenda
· Staff activity report
· Cultural resources field school update
· Permission to conduct research on state preserves
· Brushy Creek Trails Advisory Board meeting report
· Gitchie Manitou
· Budget for FY 2000 and budget request for FY 2001
· General discussion
· Set October meeting
Board members include Diane Ford-Shivvers of Prole, chair; Jonathan Steege
of Maynard, vice-chair; Gary Phillips of Estherville; Lois Tiffany of Ames;
Kathy Gourley of Des Moines, Dept. of Cultural Affairs; and Paul Johnson of
Des Moines, director of the DNR.
