RELIGIOUS COALITION CALLS FOR END TO LOGGING: The Religious Campaign
for Forest Conservation announced 2/5 over 40 religious groups visited
Capitol Hill last week to urge the end of logging in national forests.
The groups voiced support for HR 2789, a bill to end logging in
national forests, and called for immediate protections for roadless
areas. The Campaign's director, Fred Krueger said, "All of us have a
clear moral obligation to spread the word to Congress and the White
House that destruction of God's forests and the creatures that live in
them is a sin."
