Hi Alaska Activists in MN and IA,
Last night, the US Senate cast a vote that will affect Alaska's Tongass
National Forest. Although the vote was not a success for us, the vote count was
encouraging (44 good / 52 bad). There were several Republicans who voted with
us, and the 4 members who were absent for the vote are our allies. This was a
strong showing of support for Alaska's rainforests and bodes well for future
showdowns.
The Senators from MN and IA were split in their votes, one good and one bad
from each State. Please use the following web link to encourage your members
to contact their Senators with feedback (Thank You or Shame on You) on this
important vote.
