-----------------------------------------------------
For ten years, the Iowa Renewable Energy Association's annual Energy Expo
has been the central event in our ongoing education and outreach efforts.
The event provides visitors with the chance to attend workshops on topics
covering renewable energy alternatives, green building, sustainable living
and environmental issues.

I-Renew members have collaborated with the Franciscan Sisters at
Prairiewoods in Hiawatha to coordinate this year's Expo activities at the
beautiful facility which features two off-grid strawbale buildings, a solar
domestic hot water system & a restored prairie. Our keynote speaker is
Richard Perez, editor of Homepower magazine. Perez has been living off-grid
since 1970, and is one of America's leading spokespeople for residential
scale renewable energy production.

Over 50 exhibitors will be present including environmental groups, many
vendors displaying the latest renewable energy technologies & alternative
fuel vehicles. All have donated items for a large silent auction. The
refreshments will include locally grown, organic and sustainably produced
delicacies and local musicians will provide entertainment. Primitive camping
is available.

Prairiewoods is east of the Boyson Rd. exit off of Hwy. 380 in Hiawatha near
Cedar Rapids.

To reach I-RENEW: P.O. Box 355, Muscatine, IA 52761 <[log in to unmask]>,
