VOLUNTEERS SOUGHT TO SERVE ON ENVIRONMENTAL PUBLIC EDUCATION CAMPAIGN
(EPEC)
CAMPAIGN STEERING COMMITTEE
The Conservation Governance Committee is now taking applications from
Sierra
Club volunteers to serve on the Environmental Public Education Campaign
(EPEC)
Campaign Steering Committee. Volunteers who are supportive of and
familiar
with the EPEC program, especially those who are from a former or current
EPEC
community organizing site or having similar experience with direct action
organizing campaigns are encouraged to apply.
The EPEC campaign is a national Sierra Club program which places resources
in 20-40 key media markets around the country to promote organizing,
outreach, and visibility for a single key conservation issue. EPEC
community
organizing
sites also provide organizing assistance around the Sierra
Club's national conservation priorities. Responsibilities of the EPEC CSC
include: assistance in the design of the national EPEC campaign proposal;
selection of EPEC community visibility sites; review and oversight of EPEC
campaign
activities; and annual evaluation of the EPEC community organizing site
program.
Time commitments involved in serving include a meeting (face-to-face or by
conference call) to select EPEC community organizing sites, regular
conference
calls, and
review of EPEC activities via e:mail.
Applicants should have strong experience in planning and carrying out
conservation campaigns, and experience with the Sierra Club's Direct Action
Organizing campaign model is desirable. Applicants must be members in good
standing with the Sierra Club.

later
