Subject: good summer reading!

The July/August issue of Sierra magazine is in the mail (or perhaps
you've already received it), and it's good summer reading.  Editor Marilyn
Snell's interview with Tewolde Berhan Gebre Egziabher leads off -- Tewolde
has been a major voice in international negotiations for biodiversity
protections -- and it's a gem.  This is followed by three good articles,
interspersed with sidebars about GE'd golf courses, tree plantations,
phytoremediation, insulin, and glow-in-the-dark rabbits.

Together, they make a solid impact -- I feel that they move the debate from
the level of "food fights" to that of concern for nature and the world we
live in.  Check it out! And a good cover, and good graphics. I hope you'll
be able to arrange multiple readership for your copy -- to recommend it to
other activists, family or friends, lend it to a high school science
teacher, etc. And perhaps recommend it on other Sierra Club lists where it
may be relevant.

And feel free to tell the editors that they did a good job, too!  They can
be reached at [log in to unmask]
