Like Sioux City and Woodbury County, the city of Vermillion (home of the University of South Dakota) and Clay County are very close to the proposed site of a $10 billion refinery. Neither county got to vote on this monstrosity in our back yard.

Attached find Clay county Commission/board's recent letter to the air permitting agency, the SD Dept of Environment and Natural Resources. Read it and I think you will agree with the message: we need more than an air permit; we need an Environmental Assessment and Impact Statement as provided for by even South Dakota law.

Check out these websites and send a brief comment to several of the decision makers. Hyperion must complete and Environmental Assessment and Impact Statement BEFORE starting construction. We should have the chance to vote on our future too.
