An interesting list of organizations who supported bad forest bill

A few days ago, the U.S. House passed the "Healthy Forests Restoration Act
of 2003." The bill would facilitate damaging logging in national forests and
on Bureau of Land Management lands, would restrict the right of citizens to
appeal logging projects, undermines key environmental laws, and drastically
limit both the time for filing such appeals as well as the time allowed for
judicial review. The legislation would allow new roads in roadless areas,
and provide an additional $125 million in subsidies for logging in national
forests.

Here is the interesting list of organizations who formally endorsed the
bill. The list includes agriculture groups, organized labor, professional
foresters and wildlife managers. Among the agriculture groups, organized
labor, professional foresters and wildlife managers that endorsed the bill
are:

American Farm Bureau
American Forest and Paper Association
Association of Oregon and California Counties
American Legislative Exchange Council
Americans for Responsible Recreational Access
Association of California Water Agencies
Blue Ribbon Coalition
Defenders of Property Rights
Environmental Defense
Freedom for America League
