I don't have a problem with hunting, per se, Lanny, as you know. And
certainly not with shooting more deer. And if there is one place in Iowa
where large caliber, high velocity rifles may be fired with some degree
of
public safety, it would have to be southern Iowa.

We live in southern Iowa and do not support high powered rifles, assault
or otherwise, for hunting anything near our home. Already during hunting
season we are not safe to walk on our property or anywhere in our
neighborhood.

I've became pro hunting for deer as a source off uncontaminated food.
Death by bullet or arrow is far more humane than the horrific conditions
confinement animals must endure. From birth to death these animals
suffer the worst torture.

However as a resident in Southern Iowa I do object to the use of high
powered rifles that put risk to our lives and property. Phyllis Mains
