(My apologies for procrastinating this).

French Creek is one of 3 naturally reproducing trout
streams in Iowa. The Iowa Chapter and the Hawkeye Fly
fishermen are sueing Smithfield foods and  the CAFO
owner who are spreading manure along the sinkhole
laden bluffs above the creek. The trial is scheduled
forJanuary. $4000 was raised at a Greg Brown benefit
concert.
A 1000 acre addition to Effigy Mounds was signed by
President Clinton and $7500,000 was appropriated in
the Interior budget.
A choice of 6 Proposals for preserving the Loess Hills
in Western Iowa have been proposed by the NPS
including National reserve and National Monument
Status.
A proposed extension of Martin Luther King Parkway in
Des Moines would desecrate several important wetland
areas.
4,000 signatures have been collected to expand the
bottle bill law to include non-carbonated beverages.
A recent PBS program chronicled the fight to move a
highway intersection away from Eddyville Dunes
