Hello. I would like to invite those of you near Iowa City to attend a
reading from _The Tin Prayer: Words of the Wolverine_ Thursday,
April 5th at 8 pm in Prairie Lights Bookstore (6 S. Dubuque St.
FMI: http://www.prairielights.com). This new essay was written
while I was the writer in residence at the Island Institute in Sitka,
Alaska last year. Prairie Lights has this to say about it, "This
collection of deeply spiritual observations about the world around
him will remind you of Barry Lopez and Annie Dillard (note:
amazingly enough, I just got a short letter from Annie Dillard)."My
friend in Lawrence, Kansas told me this book was a "regionalist
manifesto." You be the judge.

If you are unable to attend in person and live in Iowa you
can still hear the reading on the radio at WSUI AM 910/or WOI AM
640 in the Des Moines/Ames area.

If you want more information about the book, or the reading please
e-mail me at [log in to unmask]

Hope to see all of you next thursday, Steve Semken
