Yesterday I posted a message (Subject: Nature Conservancy Swaps U.S.
Reserves for Rain Forest). Peggy Murdock emailed me today to point out that
it turns out the story was an April fools joke put on by the Daily Grist, a
daily environmental news source that I subscribe to on the internet. Peggy
followed her intuition further than I, smelling something suspicious, and
she clicked the links for further reading on the story. That's where she
discovered that the story was false.
I apologise for posting this bogus story on the Sierra Club Listserve and
for spreading bad information. Except for this stupid, not very funny prank
I still recommend checking out the Daily Grist to get daily updates on
international environmental news.
Sincerely,
Jack Eastman
