That's a good idea, Dennis. Erin has a copy of the press release with at least the names of the board or committee of this association.

The article in today's DM Register reported that from today through December 12, hundreds of Iowa supermarkets, drugstores and convenience stores will hold a petition drive to replace the bottle-deposit law with a comprehensive recycling initiative.

I did hear on the news which major grocery chains were involved. Hy-Vee is the only one I remember definitely, because Ron Pearson of Hy-Vee spoke at the press conference. Erin can provide the other major chains.

If you're shopping between now and the 12th and you see one of these petitions, you could also stop and visit with the store manager. If you find a store that does not have the petitions, let us know.

  Jane,

How about sending us a list of names and addresses of the key grocer association and grocery chain officials so that we can write them in opposition to their actions on the bottle bill?

  Dennis
