Subsequent flooding damaged the electrical system causing the city to bypass the treatment systems, sending untreated wastewater to the Mississippi River a few miles north of Davenport. The city estimates the discharge at about 75 gallons per minute. The discharge was ongoing at 3:30 p.m., but the city hoped to dry out the pump and reinstall it Monday afternoon. The DNR will continue to monitor the situation. - 30 - Karen Grimes Information SpecialistIowa Department of Natural ResourcesP 515.281.5135 [log in to unmask] State Office | 502 E Ninth St | Des Moines, IA 50319WWW.IOWADNR.GOVLeading Iowans in Caring for Our Natural Resources.
