Next week includes the Thansgiving Holiday.  All Club offices are closed
11/25-28.

The following week (Nov 30-Dec 3) is when the entire national Conservation
Department staff, and the entire chapter lobbyist network is on retreat and
unavailable.

Here's a two week snapshot of coming events:

Congress should wrap things up today and tomorrow.  We will be doing end of
session press work and thanking our champions for the roles they played in
helping to strip most of the anti-environmental riders.

This weekend 11/19-21 there is an advanced Sierra Club Training Academy in
Atlanta, GA.

Next Monday Carl Pope is in Washington, DC doing press visits.  On Tuesday
he is
in NYC for meetings with other conservation groups.

This weekend there is a joint Sierra Club - Amnesty International Training
in
washington, DC on Human Rights and the Environment.

Steve Mills is traveling to Russia next week to attend trial of Alexander
Nikitin -- to highlight human rights/environment issues in the press.

Wild Forest (Roadless Area) Hearings will be held Nov 30 - Dec 10 in
various
locations.  we will be doing local organizing, phone banking, and press
work in
each location.

Nov 29 Carl Pope and Dan Seligman in Seatlle, WA for World Trade
Organization
press work.

A series of three ads on trade, cosigned by the Sierra Club, will appear in
the
NY Times between now and Dec 15.
