Iowa Citizen Action Network (ICAN) is sponsoring nonpartisan voter
education forums prior to the November elections to educate the public
about critical issues affecting rural communities. These are issue forums,
not candidate forums.
Specific topics include local control over confined animal feedlot
operations, a ban on packer ownership of livestock, an overview of the
Farm Bill, and the importance of independence in academic research on
agricultural issues.
