Dear Friends:

SF 2342 is awaiting the Governor's signature. This important solar bill
would allow home owners, farmers, and businesses to claim a state tax
incentive when they go solar.

The state tax credit would be 50% of whatever the value of the federal 30%
Investment Tax Credit (ITC) is for that particular solar energy system. So
if you're a home owner wanting to install a solar system for let's say
$12,000, then you could claim the federal ITC to the tune of $3,600 and the
Iowa state tax credit for $1,800; leaving the net system cost to you of
$6,600. This legislation will have real benefits for Iowa consumers and the
development of the solar industry and solar jobs in Iowa.

Tell Governor Branstad to sign this important pro-solar bill into law
today.

The solar tax credit would make solar more accessible to energy consumers
across the state and help develop a strong, sustainable solar industry in
Iowa. SF 2342 complements Iowa’s legislation that has made the state a
leader in renewable wind energy manufacturing and generation.
