John Norris is candidate the Sierra Club has endorsed. This is from
John's campaign.
Des Moines Register’s Norman calls Norris fundraising
“striking”
In her Sunday column, the Des Moines Register’s Jane Norman called
John’s ability to raise money and his lead over Latham in that category
“striking.”
“Most striking was the continued financial performance of
Democrat John Norris of Ames, a magnet
for money. Norris, who is getting infusions from other House
Democrats' campaign committees as well
as labor unions, picked up $136,250 in political action
committee contributions in one month and 15
days. PACs made up more than 60 percent of his receipts.
Norris is challenging Tom Latham in Iowa's 4th District.
Earlier this year, Latham benefited from an
Iowa appearance by President Bush, and it looks like he
could use the boost again. Latham raised
$130,580 from May 16 through June 30, com-pared with
$221,606 for Norris. Latham has $100,000
less in cash.” [Des Moines Register, 7/21/02]
Unfortunately, Norman missed represented the lead John has in cash
on hand. That number is nearly $200,000.
