Every other Wednesday, the Des Moines free alternative newspaper CITYVIEW
carries a column by Carolyn Szczepanski called MOTHER EARTH. CITYVIEW can be
picked up in various locations around central Iowa, and can also be accessed
online by using the link below. MOTHER EARTH often covers statewide
environmental issues. This week, the subject is the recently-completed DNR Comprehensive
Wildlife Plan. The Iowa Chapter of the Sierra Club is mentioned.

If you like MOTHER EARTH, it would be good to let CITYVIEW know, to help
ensure the column will continue. I was disappointed when CITYVIEW dropped Nate
Hoogeveen's outdoor column, and wish that Carolyn and Nate could alternate
weeks. There are plenty of conservation issues to cover in Iowa, and both writers
are good.

There are also occasional cover stories in CITYVIEW that deal with
environmental issues. Last week, the Polk County rural water deal was covered, along
with the implications for future land use.
