Tomorrow at 10:30 there will be a rally and press conference concerning the
filing of the CAFO dedelegation petition outside the Wallace State Office
Building, home of the Iowa DNR, in Des Moines,.

The Sierra Club has joined with ICCI and the Environmental Integrity Project
in submitting a petition before the Federal Environmental Protection Agency.

The petition will ask the EPA to revoke the DNR's authority over factory farm
pollution. The discharge of millions of gallons of animal waste into Iowa's
rivers and streams has been overlooked. The Clean Water Act compliance has
been virtually non-existent for the 2100 CAFO's in Iowa. Specifically the
petition requests that the DNR's authority to issue NPDES (National Pollution
Discharage Elimination System) Permits be revoked.

The press conference will feature speakers from ICCC, Environmental Integrity
Project, and Sierra Club.

If you are in Des Moines at that time tomorrow, please join us.
