Thomas-

The 28 Greenpeace activists and two freelance journalists being detained
in Russia have been officially been charged with piracy.

This week, our bail appeals are being heard in the Murmansk Regional
Court. So far, the ships doctor, two of our activists and an independent
photojournalist have all been denied bail. We expect the court to do the same to
the rest of the Arctic30 in coming days.

These brave climate activists desperately need our help.

_If you have not yet taken action, please send an urgent message to Russia’
s US ambassador demanding Russia release the Arctic30, return the
Greenpeace ship the Arctic Sunrise, and an end to dangerous offshore oil drilling
in the Arctic for good._

These people have risked everything to save our climate. If, like me, you
stand with them and believe the action they took was necessary, take action
 today!

Thomas-
Sign this petition to the Russian Ambassador to the US:

“We are demanding the urgent release of all activists, the immediate
withdrawal of the Russian Coast Guard from the Greenpeace ship, and an end to
dangerous offshore oil drilling in the Arctic for good.”

Fifteen armed Russian Federal Security Service officers have illegally
boarded the Greenpeace ship Arctic Sunrise via helicopter, stopped all outside
communication and are currently holding more than 28 Greenpeace crew and
activists and two journalists on board under armed guard.

These brave activists urgently need your help.

_Please sign our petition to Russia’s US Ambassador demanding Russia
release the activists, immediately withdraw the Security Services from the
Greenpeace ship, and put an end to offshore oil drilling in the Arctic for
good. _ (http://us.greenpeace.org/site/R?i=5Upr2OXQrdGwNNxgXf8L3g)

On the morning of September 18th, Greenpeace activists attempted to
peacefully hang a banner on an off-shore oil platform owned by Russian oil giant
Gazprom.

But when they arrived, Russian Federal Security Service commandos fired
warning shots and threatened the activists’ lives — ultimately taking two
protesters with them against their will, without laying charges, without
legal representation.

Then, just hours ago, Russian special forces returned and took control of
the ship. That’s why we’re mounting an international effort to get them
back to us safely along with the release of the Greenpeace ship and all those
on board. And it starts with having people around the world putting
pressure on the Russian government.

_Sign our urgent petition to the Russian Ambassador and Secretary Kerry
demanding the Russian Coast Guard release the 28 activists and crew and two
journalists immediately and give Greenpeace back its ship. _

The people onboard the Arctic Sunrise need your support now more than
ever. Please take action today. Our goal is to get 75,000 signatures in the
next two days.

For the Arctic and for the right to peaceful protest,

Nicky Davies
Greenpeace USA Campaign Director

P.S. It’s going to take an international public outcry to free the 28
Greenpeace activists and two journalists currently being held under armed guard
on board the Arctic Sunrise. _Please take action_
(http://us.greenpeace.org/site/R?i=EyxBe9K-X7gfaGQWclQk_A) and forward this to your family and
friends. (http://us.greenpeace.org/site/R?i=1WY2XaIGuSHVs1LOSiWrrA)
