SUBJECT: Urgent Quincy Group Alert - Negotiations Not Over
Negotiations on the 1999 budget are not over due to a number
of unresolved issues. The Quincy Library Group bill is in the omnibus
package, but is
being discussed at "the highest level." Other unresolved issues include
spending levels for education, the Elwa and Columbia River dams,
Izembeck Road and the I-90 Land Exchange.
Please urge the White House to oppose all anti-environmental
riders, especially the Quincy Library Group bill and to insist on
cuts in funding for logging and roadbuilding on the National
Forests:
