Tomorrow (Saturday), the Republican candidates gather in Johnston for the Des
Moines Register Debate.  Iowa PIRG will be on hand with our giant inflatable
Smokey the Bear, telling the candidates "Only You Can Protect Our National
Forests."

As you may know, most of these candidates have indicated their support for
INCREASED logging in the National Forests.  So, Iowa PIRG and Ozone Action
are holding a "Rally for the Environment" at 11 AM outside IPTV in Johnston.
There is a possibility that MTV will be filming as well.  Although not a
heavy political outlet, MTV does reach a large segment of the population, so
it will critical that we environmentalists turn out to show them that Iowans
care about more than just tax cuts and personal attacks.

We have signs and props, so just bring yourself  (dress warmly) to Johnston
between 11AM and 1PM.  Directions:
Merle Hay Road North (From DM or I-80)
Left on Pioneer Parkway
Left on Corporate Drive (strangely appropriate)
We'll be on the grassy hill outside the front door.
