Central Recycling is having a grand opening of their new $5.5 million state-of-the-art construction and demolition (C&D) debris recycling facility in Des Moines on November 15, America Recycles Day. For those of you unfamiliar with Central Recycling, they accept more then 100,000 tons a year of mixed C&D debris for recycling. Last year they recycled 63,000 tons including drywall, wood, concrete, asphalt, asphalt shingles and metal. This is the only facility like it in the Midwest and only about 5 exist in the world.
Lieutenant Governor Sally Pederson and other dignitaries will be on hand. Refreshments and door prizes will be provided. Please come on out and celebrate America Recycles Day! The facility is enclosed so don't let the weather keep you away.
When: November 15, 2000
Time: 12:30 P.M. - 4:00 P.M.
Where: Des Moines
The facility is located in northeast Des Moines just south of interstate 80-35. Take the East 14th street exit south from I-80/35 to Broadway. Turn left (east) and go to Delaware. Turn left (north) onto Delaware. Central Recycling is on the left.
