The damage which genetically engineered crops may be doing to soil organisms
is a very serious threat to the natural environment and to soil fertility.
The article below describes that threat.
The CEOs of the corporations responsible for the widespread planting of
genetically engineered crops are not in prison, where by all that is right
and just they ought to be. Instead they have broken no law and walk among us
as free men, because they have manipulated our system of laws to the extent
that nothing in our statutes prohibits their actions.

NEW ARTICLE ON SOIL ECOLOGY AND GMO'S PUBLISHED
PSRAST has published an article warning for potential damage of GMOs crops
on soil ecology by way of horizontal transfer of transgenic vector DNA to
soil microorganisms. Disturbance of soil ecology may affect soil fertility.
If the proposed mechanism works, there is a risk that impairment of soil
fertility may persist for very long time or permanently.
See:Genetically Engineered Crops - A Threat to Soil Fertility?
http://www.psrast.org/soilecolart.htm
The article concludes:
1. The suggested mechanism might in the worst case cause irreparable,
cumulative and persistent damage to soil fertility
2. The genes causing the complication might spread uncontrollably
PSRAST has waited with publishing this article for a long time because the
participating soil ecologists have hesitated to disclose their names,
fearing to loose their grants or even their jobs. But we feel we cannot
wait any more. This is an example of the "tacit censorship" that the
powerful multinationals exert over science, see "Dysfunctional science" at
http://www.psrast.org/crisisofsci.htm.
