Several of us on this list attended a similar meeting several days ago at
another church. It is well-worth attending.

Where is Iowa agriculture headed and why should we care?

-Midsize farms are disappearing throughout Iowa. How is this changing our
landscape?
-Our state has twice as many farmers over age 65 as under 35. Who will grow
our food in 10 years, and how will it be grown?
-Will current trends allow Iowa's rural communities to thrive?

All Iowans need to have a say about what kind of agriculture and rural
landscape is in our future. Join us for a conversation.

Monday, April 15
7-8:30 PM
St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church
7075 Ashworth Road, West Des Moines

Refreshments will be served and child care will be provided.

Fred Kirschenmann, farmer, professor, and director of the Leopold Center for
Sustainable Agriculture will make a short presentation, followed by a
discussion about agriculture.
