COMMENTS SOUGHT ON COUNTY PARTICIPATION IN LIVESTOCK SITING
The DNR is seeking public comments on a proposed rule that would allow
counties to evaluate siting of large, planned confinement livestock
structures.
"This rule sets up limited times for counties to enroll with the DNR,
indicating that they will participate in the construction evaluation
process," said Robin Pruisner, DNR animal feeding operations rule
coordinator.
The meeting will start at 1 p.m. on Oct. 8 in the fourth floor conference
room of the Wallace Building in Des Moines.
Written comments can be sent on or before Oct. 8 to Robin Pruisner, DNR,
Wallace Building, 502 E. 9th St., Des Moines, Iowa 50319-0034; or faxed to
(515)281-8895.
