BOND ESA EXEMPTION RIDER PULLED FROM CONSIDERATION

Yesterday you received an alert asking you to call your Senators and tell
them to oppose a rider offered by Sen. Chris Bond (R-MO) that would have
required the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to ignore the best available
science and the Endangered Species Act and allow the Army Corps of Engineers
to disrupt the nesting areas of endangered interior least terns and
threatened piping plovers.

This morning we received word that Senator Bond has withdrawn his rider
from consideration.

Thank you to everyone who made calls! Your input with your Senators has
helped make sure that the Endangered Species Act remains enforced.
