Greetings Harkin Steak Fry Volunteers:

You were Awesome and Breath-taking!

Thank you all so much for helping with the Sierra Club/I-PIRG effort at the
Harkin Steak Fry on Saturday! You were great! And we did rock!

You stayed on the CLEAN ENERGY message.

You handed out more than 1700 CLEAN ENERGY bags. Those bags were everywhere!

You distributed all the handout materials we had!

You got the media packets into the hands of lots of the media!

You got the Candidate packets into the hands of all 7 Presidential
candidates.

You got the packet into the hands of President Clinton, and Senator Harkin.

And you know what, it was no accident that President Clinton spent nearly 3
minutes of his speech on CLEAN ENERGY. I am sure he had intended to mention
that issue, but I am willing to wager, it was the presence you created that
inspired him to emphasize it as he did!

People flocked to our "booth", they were lined-up to receive our materials
and sign our Pledge Petition. We have not counted yet, but you filled all
the sheets but a handful ­ probably 1600-1700 names, potential volunteers!

Your efforts created one of the most pervasive presences at the entire Steak
Fry event. Not more than 3 of the Presidential Candidates had a greater
presence than we did! And no other interest group did.

And, you did it all in the constant rain, muck, and cool temperatures, with
huge enthusiasm, fun and aplomb. Awesome and Breath-taking you were! Thank
you!
