Scott Russell Sanders, one of our finest essayists (several books,
including "Hunting for Hope," "The Force of Spirit," "Writing from the
Center," and "Staying Put") will be in Cedar Falls this weekend. Friday
evening he'll be reading and speaking at the Hearst Center for the Arts,
and on Saturday he will lead discussions at St Luke's Episcopal Church.
The Friday event is free and open to the public. The Saturday session,
which lasts most of the day, is $25, including meals. Sanders explores
issues relating to living centered, grounded lives, in relationships of
respect for one another and reverence for our natural environment. He's
one of my favorite contemporary writers.
