Friends,
Your help is needed!!
Iowa legislators have introducted a bill that would pre-empt local cities,
counties, and townships from placing restrictions on the sale of
"agricultural seed." The Iowa Governor and Secretary of Agriculture are in
favor of this bill and the pro-biotech reps are trying to push it through
immediately. They were going to try to schedule an open hearing with no
advanced notice (e.g. this morning at 10 am), but it now looks like it may
be scheduled as early as Friday or Monday.
Please contact Deborah Williamson, of the Leopold Group, Iowa Sierra Club,
who
is helping coordinate.
