nominate yourself for appointment please complete and return the application
below by January 7, 2007.
The Wildlands Committee works to educate, support, and advise local
activists and others in designing and implementing policies and practices
that protect and restore wildlands and special places. We promote
stewardship and the right of the public to be involved in land management
decisions. For a better idea of the work we do, please review the Wildlands
web site at http://www.sierraclub.org/wildlands/
This committee serves as a resource to chapters and groups in the work to
protect wildlands in their areas. The Wildlands Committee coordinates with
the ongoing work of other Sierra Club committees such as National Parks and
Monuments, Recreation Issues, Wildlife and Endangered Species, and Global
Warming and Energy.
Candidates for the Wildlands Committee should have at least general

motivation to work on resolving them. Specialized expertise is welcome as is
familiarity with Sierra Club policies and processes at the national level.
Candidates should have good management and social skills, as well as
political and strategic judgment. Nominees must be current Sierra Club
members residing in the United States.
