I suppose some will rejoice in the taking of a state park for golf
course, lodge, etc. On the other hand, there goes another bit of
nature. As only a 27 year resident of Iowa, I still am dismayed that
Iowans seem to like their parks with paved parking, diagonal strips to
park between, and clipped grass. I prefer the approach of the Iowa
Natural Heritage Foundation, that leaves things wild. Lanny Schwartz
