ACTION ALERT

Bruce Braley - (202) 225-2911
Dave Loebsack - (202) 225-6576
Leonard Boswell - (202) 225-3806
Tom Latham - 202-225-5476
Steve King - 202.225.4426

The Energy Bill is hitting the floor of the House this week and the two most important
sections are in jeopardy. Please call your Congressperson today to support:

1) Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards that actually move our country
away from overdependence on foreign oil and tackle global warming. The Markey-Platts
CAFE standard would demonstrate that Congress is serious about our energy situation.
The alternative Hill-Terry standard would undermine states, continue the light truck
loophole, and is actually lower than what President Bush proposed.

2) A Renewable Electric Standard (RES) that increases investment in wind power and
other forms of renewable energy to combat global warming, increases economic development
in our state (GREEN COLLAR JOBS!), and empowers rural Iowans. The Udall-Platts
RES would start us on course for comprehensive global warming legislation in this
country and is great for our economy.

The staff of multiple Congresspeople have told us that they NEED to hear from the
grassroots on these two issues. Please ACT today and then email me to let me know
you called - [log in to unmask]
