TAX CREDIT REVIEW REPORT AND PUBLIC MEETING AGENDAS RELEASED
The Iowa Department of Management today released the agency tax credit
reports and the public meetings agendas. The report includes data and
information on the tax credit programs submitted by the state agencies that
administer the tax credit programs. The public meetings will take place
tomorrow, the 15th in Cedar Rapids and Wednesday, the 16th in Urbandale.
If organizations or members of the public cannot attend the meetings, but
would like to comment, please visit www.governor.iowa.gov to post a public
comment. Those comments will be provided to the tax credit review panel.
On Nov. 19, Governor Culver ordered a comprehensive review of the state's
tax credit programs. He asked the Directors of the six state agencies that
oversee the tax credit programs to submit a review of their respective
department's tax credit programs. Those Directors will then serve on a panel
to review the programs and submit a report to the Governor addressing
oversight, accountability, transparency, public reporting, cost-benefit, and
which programs should be continued, curtailed, and or eliminated. The
Governor named Iowa Department of Management Director Dick Oshlo to chair
the panel. The meeting agendas are below. The documents are also available
on the Department of Management website, www.dom.state.ia.us .
